- What inspired you to become a Board member with The CIRI Foundation?
TCF has been a part of my life since age 17 when I first started working on publications that were developed by TCF in the late 90s. They funded both my undergraduate degree and my graduate degree at the University of Alaska Anchorage. I have always wanted to stay involved with TCF, and becoming a board member was at the top of my list of boards I wanted to join. To maintain an active role in furthering TCFs mission has been a dream come true for me.
- What is your greatest accomplishment?
One of my lifetime goals was to someday become a CIRI Board member and further the mission of CIRI “to promote the economic and social well-being and Alaska Native heritage of our shareholders, now and into the future, through prudent stewardship of the company’s resources, while furthering self-sufficiency among CIRI Shareholders and their families” I was elected to the CIRI Board of Directors in 2010 and to this day it remains one of the most challenging and rewarding experiences of my life.
- What advice would you give TCF Recipients?
Don’t give up! Your life will forever be enriched by furthering your education no matter what field of study you choose.
