TCF Recipient

1. What inspired you to join The CIRI Foundation team?
Education and art have been an important part of my life. As a TCF Scholarship and Project Grant recipient I was impressed with the excellent support during the application process. I can think of nothing more rewarding than helping others on their journey. I am grateful to join the TCF team, to take part in helping others fulfill their creative and academic endeavors.

2. What do you like to do in your spare time?
I love hearing stories about and from Alaska Native people. In my free time I write short stories, I am a contributing writer and photographer for First Alaskans Magazine and Anchorage Press. I am also a playwright working with a troupe of fellow Alaska Native theatre professionals and Perseverance Theatre.

3. What advice do you have for TCF recipients?
“Find that idea, person, or thing that will motivate you or keep you going.”
“Be kind to your mistakes and celebrate small victories.”
