The CIRI Foundation (TCF) is partnering with Cook Inlet Tribal Council (CITC) to administer CITC’s Tribal Higher Education Scholarship Program. This program includes the Tribal Higher Education Scholarship and the Alyeska Match Scholarship. CITC’s Scholarship Program offers scholarships to full-time and part-time degree-seeking students. Scholarships are offered on a per term basis. Scholarship deadlines are June 1 and December 1 each year.
Please review the information below for deadline information, how to apply, requirements, award details and terms. CITC’s Scholarship Program applications are paper applications. Applications will be available 30 days in advance of deadlines. Applications can be submitted by email, fax, in-person at TCF’s office, or by mail. Applications must be received on or before the deadline by 11:59 p.m. (Alaska Time). Late applications will not be accepted.

CITC TRIBAL HIGHER EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIP (Fall Only, Spring Only)
Deadline: June 1, December 1
Semester Amount: Amount varies based on available funding and number of qualified applicants. Completed PAPER applications will be considered in the order they were received - first completed, first awarded. Requirements:
- Voting, CIRI Shareholder or lineal descendant of a voting shareholder
- Must have a high school diploma or GED
- Enrolled in one of the following degree programs: Associate, Bachelor, Master, or Doctorate
- Must be attending an accredited institution
- A 2.0 cumulative grade point average or higher
Award Details:
- Students are funded per term only. If you are awarded for Fall, you must re-apply at the December 1 deadline to be considered for Spring funding.
- Funding is only offered for Fall at the June 1 deadline and only for Spring at the December 1 deadline.
- Program does not offer Summer funding.
Award Terms:
- Fund uses direct educational expenses, including tuition, student registration fees, course-required books/supplies, and on-campus house and meal plans.
- Applicants will be evaluated based on the information submitted with their application
- Awards are subject to available funding.
ALYESKA MATCH SCHOLARSHIP (Fall Only, Spring Only)
The Alyeska Match Scholarship is a supplementary scholarship to the CITC Tribal Higher Education Scholarship. If you apply for the CITC Scholarship and are enrolled in one of the qualifying programs listed below, you may qualify for a "match" scholarship from the Alyeska Pipeline Service Company's Alaska Native Program.
Deadline: June 1, December 1
Semester Amount: Amount varies based on available funding and number of qualified applicants.
Completed PAPER applications will be considered in the order they were received – first completed, first awarded.
Requirements:
- All of the CITC Tribal Higher Education Scholarship requirements; and
- Enrolled in one of the Alyeska Match qualifying programs*; and
- A 2.5 cumulative grade point average or higher
Qualifying programs:
- Engineering: Electrical, Mechanical, and Civil
- Health & Safety, Environment, Security
- Construction & Project Management, Project Controls
- Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems
- Instrumentation, Process Technology, SCADA (Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition)
- Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Finance
- Applied Technology, Construction & TAPS Industry Trades: Welding, Diesel/Heavy Equipment, Electrician, and Maritime
Award Details:

- Can only receive $7,500 per academic year from Alyeska Pipeline Service Company's Alaska Native Program - which may include scholarship and internship funding from other organizations distributing Alyeska funds.

However, applicants are responsible for ensuring that all documents are submitted for any application they wish to have considered. To facilitate this process, you may now use a TCF information request form for paper CITC applications, which may be submitted via email (tcf@thecirifoundation.org), fax (907.793.3585), or in paper form to TCF (3201 C Street, Suite 506, Anchorage, AK 99503). Please be aware that these will be processed in the order they are received and only after applications are processed. For speedier submission, applicants should submit all documents for their CITC application.
