Village Scholarships and Grants

The CIRI Foundation (TCF) administers the following village scholarship and grant programs and is proud to support their members, descendants and original enrollees: Eklutna, Inc., Ninilchik Native Association, Inc., and Salamatof Native Association, Inc.

Eklutna, Inc. Scholarships and Grants

Eklutna, Inc.'s (EI) scholarships and vocational training grants are now available to original enrollees of Eklutna, Inc. and their direct lineal descendants (natural or adopted). There are two deadlines for scholarship applicants and four deadlines for vocational training applicants. EI scholarships and grants require a paper application, and TCF scholarships and grants require an online application (with an approved user account).

Eklutna, Inc. Scholarships and Vocational Training Grants 

Scholarship Deadlines: June 30 and December 31

Vocational Training Grant deadline: Please call TCF.

AMOUNT(S):

  • Up to $1,500/$1,000 per academic year for full-time/part-time scholarship students
  • Up to $750/$500 per term for full-time/part-time scholarships students
  • Up to $1,000 per calendar year for vocational training/certificate-seeking students

Requirements:

  • Proof of EI original enrollee or direct lineal descendant status - a written statement from EI or birth certificates linking you to your original enrollee, name change documents may also be needed.
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED
  • Enrolled in one of the following degree programs: undergraduate, graduate, or vocational training/certificate-seeking program
  • Must be attending an accredited institution
  • A 2.0 cumulative grade point average or higher

Award Details:

  • eligible to receive up to:
    • $1,500/$1,000 per academic year for full-time/part-time scholarship students
    • $750/$500 per term for full-time/part-time scholarships students
    • $1,000 per calendar year for vocational training/certificate-seeking students
    • All awards subject to available funding

Award Terms:

  • Upon receiving an award, students must maintain all eligibility requirements to remain in good standing with TCF and remain eligible for future funding
  • Fund uses direct educational expenses, including tuition, student registration fees, course-required books/supplies, and on-campus house and meal plans.
  • Applicants will be evaluated based on the information submitted with their application (download here).

Ninilchik Native Association, Inc.

Scholarship and Grant Program

The Ninilchik Native Association, Inc. (NNAI) Scholarship and Grant program is available to original enrollees of NNAI and their lineal descendants (natural or adopted). Eligible applications can be simultaneously considered for both an NNAI and TCF award. There are two deadlines for scholarships applicants and one deadline for vocational training applicants.

As of May 25, 2017 eligibility for this scholarship will extend to Alaska Native voting shareholders of NNAI. Voting Alaska Native shareholders, who are not original enrollees or direct lineal descendants, of NNAI will be eligible to apply for scholarships and vocational training grants through the online application.

Ninilchik Native Association, Inc. Scholarship and Grant Program – established in 1992.

AMOUNT: Up to $1500.
Requirements:

  • NNAI original enrollee or direct lineal descendant of NNAI original enrollee or Alaska Native voting NNAI shareholder who is not an original enrollee or direct lineal descendant of one- a written statement or enrollment card will be requested to verify your eligibility for these programs.
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED
  • Enrolled in one of the following degree programs: undergraduate, graduate, or vocational training/certificate-seeking program
  • Must be attending an accredited institution
  • A 2.5 cumulative grade point average or higher

Award Details:

  • Eligible to receive up to $1,500 (subject to available funding)

Award Terms:

  • Upon receiving an award, students must maintain all eligibility requirements in order to remain in good standing with TCF and remain eligible for future funding
  • Fund uses: direct educational expenses including tuition, student registrations fees, course-required book/supplies, and on-campus house and meal plans.
  • Applicants will be evaluated based on the information submitted with their application.
  • Awards are subject to available funding.

Salamatof Native Association, Inc.

Scholarship and Grant Program

The Salamatof Native Association, Inc. (SNAI) Scholarship and Grant program is available to original enrollees of SNAI, their lineal descendants (natural or adopted) and their spouses. Eligible applications can be simultaneously considered for both an SNAI and TCF award. There are two deadlines for scholarships applicants and one deadline for vocational training applicants.

AMOUNT: Up to $2,500/$2,250 per term for full-time/part-time students
Requirements:

  • SNAI original enrollee, direct lineal descendant, or spouse - a written statement or enrollment card will be requested to verify your eligibility for these programs.
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED
  • Enrolled in one of the following degree programs: undergraduate, graduate, or vocational training/certificate-seeking program
  • Must be attending an accredited institution
  • A 2.5 cumulative grade point average or higher
