1. What inspired you to become a member of the TCF team?
A member of TCF’s Board of Directors posted about the accounting manager position in LinkedIn and I was immediately interested. I did a search and came upon The CIRI Foundation mission statement. TCF’s mission to, “promote self-development and economic self-sufficiency through education and to maintain pride in culture and heritage among Alaska Natives of Cook Inlet region and their descendants” is a powerful and meaningful statement. Though not a descendant of the Cook Inlet region, culture and heritage is important in my household. Growing up, I was raised to value the people and the land of my parent’s country. Now, as a parent, I do my best to instill passed down values to my children.
2. What do you do in your spare time?
In my spare time, I love to take my kids on play dates with my husband. I love to be with family and friends. I also love to be creative such as diy projects, house decorating, event decorating, and crafting with my kids.
3. What advice do you have for TCF recipients?
My advice to TCF recipients would be to always be grateful for the opportunities they are currently receiving and have received. Take advantage and apply to all scholarships available. Never be afraid to chase your dreams.
