TCF & NYO: Strong Support for Alaska Native Youth

The 2023 Senior Native Youth Olympic (NYO) Games are a wrap, and TCF – a long-time sponsor – couldn’t be prouder of these young athletes in grades 7-12. Held from April 20 to 22 at the Alaska Airlines Center on the UAA campus, the TCF-sponsored one-hand reach was among the crowd favorites. It was a captivating display of strength, endurance, and tenacity.  

CITC reports that its 2023 student-athlete survey results show NYO Games continue to impact student-athletes positively. Concepts such as a healthier lifestyle, teamwork, determination, sportsmanship, leadership, hard work, self-confidence, self-esteem, and cultural values improve through participation in NYO Games. Athletes also learn valuable cultural traditions through NYO Games—traditions as relevant today as when our ancestors practiced them from time immemorial.

TCF’s involvement in the NYO Games Alaska is a testament to our commitment to supporting our young people’s education and pride in heritage.
